BBW2013 | Recent

3 weeks hiatus. First post in December.

Bad luck has been following me. Was so devastated until not long ago, went makan with my sister and she indeed lightened up everything around us.

When people see me as a positive source, I as well get mine from my closest ones. I need recharging too. Calling back home, hanging out with sisters, listening to music, tumblring, etc. etc..

***
I went to KL last Wednesday for this BigBadWolf (BBW) book sale at MIECC @ The Mines. Going to Pavilion before that because BBW was open 24 hours (Awesome wasn't it?!). It took me one hour to reach KL Sungai Besi toll and another 2 hours to Pavilion!!! That was the first time I experienced the traffic in KL. CRAZY!

Wanted to look for the Christmas deco at Pavilion but I ended up taking only few shoots from the entrance. So so damn regret I didn't spend my time wisely. FML!

only interior I shot. Missed the carousel!!! Aghhh hate myself!

*googled for better picture!*
I didn't even have a closer look about everything. It's Christmas we're talking about! Hate myself x2!

Morganfield's. Huge portion. Don't simply order! It states 3-4 persons but I assure you it's far more than that!

Haiz. Been there done that. It's closed inside. FOL.

Bye Pavilion.

I found that the line character super annoying. Does it have anything to do with christmas except wearing a christmas hat?- -

Reaching BBW at midnight 00:00 sharp. I thought there would be less people during the night who knows the crowd was no joke. Well I was the one who purposely went there from Malacca so, no whining. It was indeed my kinda sanctuary heaven!

Crowd at 12 midnight. I was grinning ear to ear once I stepped into the hall. Pile of books.

I love books. I love places with lotsa books. I adore people who read especially those who share the same liking in authors and books with me.

Sooooooo, I didn't see this coming:

Spending 4 straight hours for books hunting until 4 o'clock in the morning. Pity my friends who accompanied me. I felt so sorry yet satisfying at the same time. I didn't really get what I was looking for, but it was actually a matter of luck and that was probably the fun part of the whole book hunting thing.

I was so thrilled that I was lucky enough to find two Cecelia Ahern's books, leaving "How to Fall in Love" and "One Hundred Names" to complete her novels collection.

From this book sale I found that I'm no longer drawn to those chick lit and prefer true stories and non-fictions. Many of them I've read, or the story lines are more or less the same. It's time to look for something different.

Spending not more than RM100 to get all these. Crazy not.

PS: Amy Yasbeck's was drenched in water and is now doing sunbathing. Darn.

another thing to highlight! Even the plastic bag design is cute!
*Read more for less*

*Read happily ever after*
True. I think these books can last me for quite a long time!

A long-await date with the ladies.

Decent coffee found in Malacca town.

she helps a lot in many ways.

although this one thing she can't help me. No one can.

realizing that Christmas draws near. Once-a-year project started not long ago. I hope I can complete it in time. Too damn busy lately :'(

yea and have the time to blog.

and to draw. Haha well this is the last piece of drawing. Next year only start a new sketchbook. Or maybe not.

Favourite Tumblr time

Too cute!!!

I always wanted to share this but I have no time, and I don't want to post on FB or Instagram. Waiting until now. I laughed freaking hysterically when I first read it. Damn funny. Especially the "Be careful not to slip" part. LOL!!!

Like this pic. Kinda creepy though but I like the idea of it.
The light bulb symbolizes our thoughts and how over-thinking can kill us.

Lately I been, I been losing sleep
Dreaming about the things that we could be
But baby, I been, I been praying hard
Said no more counting dollars
We'll be counting stars

Way to Christmas...

One Republic - Counting Stars. I prefer this cover by Hanbyul. Acoustic version.

I like the lyric.

I feel something so right
By doing the wrong thing
And I feel something so wrong
By doing the right thing
I could lie, could lie, could lie
Everything that kills me makes me feel alive

Well, done typing this post I'm the happy me again. Fuck those bad lucks.

PS: lazy to double check. Forgive me for any grammar or what shit mistake.
PPS: swearing a lot. I'm sorry.

Love Always Wins

I love how behind every single window, there is a different person who has a story that we know nothing about.

Last Friday morning, we lost the one we loved and respected. I felt as if we had grown up overnight. The death was so close, so sudden, so heartbreaking. No one can confidently say that he will still be living tomorrow. I know at this moment, word itself has very limited assuring effect, the hugs can't last for ever, all we can do is to stand by your side.

People take things for granted. A glass of warm milk prepared by mother in the morning. A lift to the bus station. A heartwarming smile from the passers-by. Even a glimpse of sunshine caught once you open your eyes. We are blessed in so many forms we often think it comes so naturally without appreciate each of them. Alway remember. Give thanks, spread love.

"Love wins. Love always wins."

"This is part of what a family is about, not just love. It's knowing that your family will be there watching out for you. Nothing else will give you that. Not money. Not fame. Not work."

- Mitch Albom, Tuesday with Morrie.

Those we hold closest never leave us, they live on in the kindness they've shared and the love they brought into our lives. We will miss you.

unconditional love,
Ee

最近

昨晚临睡前趴在床上看书
播了纯吉他音乐
(Sungha Jung

updated:
现在才发现
里头的good memories是
在夕阳下的奔跑,那是我逝去的青春
又中了万万没想到的毒
哈哈

Bangkok #1 | Sky Bar Rooftop @ Lebua State Tower

FYI, I'm home. Taking only two subjects in one sem and this week both my lecturers happened to cancel their classes. Happy me. As if having my one-week midterm break, I'm home, in my room typing this post.

This evening while I was taking a nap on the couch, my mind was still conscious and I heard my mom said to dad, "I wondered why your daughter can sleep anytime anywhere." I'd take it as a compliment mom.

I've got nothing much to do besides strolling, and still strolling. I've no intention to continue my FYP since I worked out with the coding for a continuous 5 hours the last Friday, so no FYP just yet.

***
Thinking back I didn't really mention much about my trip to Bangkok with my girlfriend. Since we didn't do our homework/ plan itinerary, instead of blogging from day 1 until the last day, I'd choose whichever place I like and blog about it in a random manner. So, I guess I'd blog about my 4D3N trip starting with a place I'd never forget,

*credits to Mr Google*

Suspended in the sky on the 63rd floor of The Dome at Lebua State Tower, Sky Bar is one of the world's best rooftop bars, and is the world's highest al fresco (open air) restaurant where many scenes in The Hangover Part II were shot.

I actually did a little research about rooftop bars in Bangkok (there's a lot!!) and I came to this one. My gf and I came to this conclusion- since we decided to go, we go to the best. Although this decision went against my no-no which is, VERY touristic and crowded, but for the view and atmosphere we took in that night, it's totally worth it!

My gf and I don't own a camera, don't expect the vibrant night view shot from an iPhone is as nice. But words can't describe this place, pictures don't do it justice. You have to visit here once in your lifetime! (well running out of words haha!)

we decided to walk from the BTS Saphan Taksin station to the State Tower. It took less than 10 minutes. Spot the Dome and follow towards the direction.

We were ushered onto the lift at the lobby and off we went straight up to the 64th floor of the building. PS: Strict dress code implies!

*credits to Mr Google*
we were led to this place where the view ain't what I'd expected. Only then I knew we had to order drinks first in order to go to the Dome!

So we ordered our drinks and took in the view while waiting. All I can say, the place was swarming with tourists.

I have never paid that much for a drink. I was intended to order Mojito (my favourite cocktail) but looking at the price, I kinda chicken out. More than RM50 for one glass of cocktail that's really inflated! So we go for mocktails (~RM35 if not mistaken). This kinda price is expected so we didn't whine about it.

What we saw from afar once we were being led to the Dome (of course with our super ex-drinks)! Taking photo is prohibited from the deck due to customers' privacy issues I don't know, that's what the security told us. but the view is STUNNING.

the 360-color-changing bar.

something looked like this. As crowded as it is. Credit goes to link at bottom right.

Although the crazy crowds and the lack of seating don’t make for a relaxing drink, but the arguably best panoramic views in Bangkok make a visit here well worth!

My gf and I. The usher has kinda good photography skill! haha!

Gf- Jiahui

The Dome.

All of Bangkok city spread out in front and all around us. I was completely blown away by the beautiful night view. Feeling like I could reach out and touch the sky. That night was truly amazing. Surrounded by men in suits and ladies in dresses, appeared to me as if those scenes in movies.

I sipped the drinks for ages and took in the view, enjoyed the atmosphere and then called it a night.

Roof top bars in Bangkok seem to be the current trend at the moment but the Skybar is the most prestigious. If your budget stretches and you meet their dress code then it's totally worth the experience. A place only for once. Drinks might be pricey, but the experience is priceless.

I took night flight back to Singapore on the last day. and the night view was as amazing! Except that I don't pay near RM50 for this view, and it's not open air of course.
the sky was so clear I could see almost the whole city.

Bye Bangkok city. Will soon return! :P

Next post to Asiatique and KhaoSan road maybe?
